Drama gives children the opportunity to explore situations topics and individual feelings in a safe environment. It helps them to learn important coping strategies which build resilience and gently build up their confidence and self-esteem.
At Prop Box we specialise in working with shy and anxious children and aim to spark imagination, creativity, and individual expression with gentle encouragement. We try to develop confidence in each and every child that walks through our doors and by understanding each child’s individual needs, we can provide tailored support for them enabling them to flourish.
WHY PROP BOX?
With so many drama groups exploding onto the market in the past few years offering so much choice, it can be hard to know which group to choose!
At Prop Box we are small, inclusive, non profit community theatre group who take time to get to know every child and their individual needs. Our classes are small and friendly and everyone is welcome no matter their gender, ability or additional needs. We work closely with parents to ensure the correct level of support is given to those children who may need that extra little bit of help!
We offer a FREE trial session at all of our classes and you are welcome to try as many classes as you wish to ensure you find the best fit for your child!

Term Time Classes
Prop Box now offers FIVE performing classes every week during term time at Hilldene Community Centre, West End. SO30 3DU.
PROP BOX POCKET DRAMA Friday 17.00-18.00 ages 4-7yrs
PROP BOX MUSICAL THEATRE Friday 18.00-21.00 ages 8-17yrs
Holiday Workshops
During school holidays we often run lots of different workshops for all ages and abilities – from our one day workshops such as our hugely popular Encanto workshop, ‘SIX’, Matilda, or Mary Poppins during half term holidays, to our three day Musical or Filmmaking summer projects, where participant get to plan, rehearse and produce a short film, or perform a musical in just a few days. We also work with industry professionals from the West End – including Liam McHugh (Saturday Nigh Fever, Waitress & currently Grease), providing something to suit everyone!
Productions
Our Musical Theatre group is for anyone aged 8-17 years who loves performing! We put on two full costumed productions per year: A winter Pantomime and a big Summer Musical! We also perform a revue show as a fundraiser event at Easter.
Auditions are FREE to attend and everyone is guaranteed a part. We specialise in working with shy or anxious children, so contact us to see how we can help you start performing!
